Brochure: On holiday in Europe

Your rights before, during and after your holiday.

Should I book my holiday via a travel agent or via the internet?
What should I pay attention to while booking a hotel room or renting a holiday home?
My flight has been cancelled. Where can I get help?
I’m travelling by car in Europe. Are the traffic rules the same everywhere?
I booked a holiday by plane and boat with my aunt, who’s in a wheelchair. Does she need to pay a surcharge for transporting her wheelchair?

The ECC brochure On holiday in Europe. Your rights before, during and after your holiday aims to inform travellers about their rights. It explains what to do if things go wrong when you travel.

It consists of 4 main chapters:

  1. Booking the holiday (organising the holiday independently or buying a package holiday, holiday cancellation insurance, required travel documents)
  2. Transport (what are your rights while travelling by plane, train, bus, or by boat? What if you want to take your pet on your holiday?)
  3. At the holiday destination (renting a car, making purchases and what to do in the event of sickness?)
  4. Complaints (Where can you ask for help during and after your holiday?)

All this information and much more is available free of charge. You can download the brochure or order it on our website.
