The European Consumer Centre interferes with queries of European nature.

The ECC offers an answer to the following questions:

  • What about the warranty regulations regarding a purchase made in a neighbouring country?
  • How to buy a car in another European country?
  • What to do in case of problems with a holiday rental abroad?
  • How to buy safely through the internet?

The specialised legal advisers of the ECC answer consumer questions, offer advice and if necessary contact the seller. If the seller is located in a different member state of the European Union, they will forward the case to the ECC located in the country of the seller. Together, they’ll try to find an amicable settlement.

If an amicable settlement could not be obtained, they will try to find a suitable extra-judicial solution in collaboration with ombudsmen, conciliation bodies or dispute commissions. The ECC informs about the existing possibilities and offers assistance during the entire procedure.

The services of the ECC are free of charge.
