Seller did not refund customer because they did not have customer’s IBAN and BIC codes.
Mrs. V., who lives in the Netherlands, bought lingerie from a Belgian company online. To her disappointment the order is not delivered.
After a few weeks she contacts the company and is told that originally her size was not available, but the order will now be delivered in due course. One month later she is still waiting for delivery and both parties agree that she will be refunded.
Nothing happens, however, and Mrs. V. once again urges the company to issue a refund and quite specifically quotes her account number to the company.
In the absence of a response she contacts the ECC Network.
ECC Belgium contacts the vendor and in the end the solution is quite simple: the accounts department did not have the IBAN and BIC code for Mrs’ V.’s account. Two days later the money is paid into her account. It is advisable to always include your IBAN and BIC codes for European transactions.
