Vueling refunds Mrs. D’s unused air tickets (€ 963.75), plus € 1250 compensation, because it cancelled the flight.

Mrs. D. books 5 tickets (for herself and her family) for a flight from Brussels to Barcelona with Vueling. On the day of departure they check in and board the plane at 9.30 hrs. As soon as they are seated all passengers are requested to leave the plane because of a technical problem.

Mrs. D. and her family remain at the airport until 23.45 hrs but receive no further information. They are provided with food. Having waited for 14 hours they decide to complete a complaint form and return home.

Mrs. D. writes to Vueling asking for a refund for the air tickets and unused hotel bookings, but does not receive a reply. She consequently decides to submit her complaint to ECC Belgium.

Following the intervention of our Spanish colleagues, Mrs. D. receives a refund for the five air tickets (€ 963.75) and € 250 compensation per passenger (€ 1250).
